Argh, I'm worried I'm going to be out of practice. Not to mention I haven't been following K-T in ages -- any suggestions on albums/concerts/shows/primers for their recent work? D:

Mwahahaha. Okay, let's see. I suggest joining (temporarily) [livejournal.com profile] jone_records as the most convenient all-in-one source for K-T media, but if necessary I can hunt down some other links, or I believe it's mostly on Youtube here and there. Obviously there's Break The Records (http://community.livejournal.com/jone_records/531068.html) (or subtitled here (http://newshfan.livejournal.com/157660.htmlhttp://newshfan.livejournal.com/157660.html)), the most recent concert DVD, and if nothing else I strongly recommend watching at least Kame's solo - I think you'll find it very interesting. It's spawned essays in the plural and that's not, er, terribly common to this fandom. *g* There's a lot of interesting material on the 3rd discs - "Road of Break The Records", it's called, made up of interviews and some backstage/other concert footage - for that one you definitely want the subtitled version, from the above link. For that matter, the first half of the associated photobook (http://community.livejournal.com/jone_records/468999.html) is like a special gift to my detail-oriented heart - "Oh, so that's how they plan concerts! Wow, there's a model of Tokyo Dome and everything..."

They've got a single out later this month (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRL5EMuhlkM), but otherwise their most recent one was Rescue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV2TQgy_His), back in March. The PV drives me nuts because they go about 90% of the way to really slick and then fall down on the final stretch so that something about the quality of the - film? lighting? - seems almost homemade. ^^; Wouldn't be Johnny's otherwise, I guess, but they seemed to manage fine with Real Face. Hmph.

Lately on cartoon KAT-TUN Jin seems to be enjoying himself instead of pretending he's not there for the first time in a while: exhibit A (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0HpK3MIfVM). He's been busy with promotion for his movie Bandage, the Iwai Shunji/Kobayashi Takeshi (of "All About Lily Chou-Chou" fame) production that's coming out the 16th, and he seems to really click with both Iwai and Kobayashi. Nice for him to have some adult friends for once, and imho he probably likes the freedom. And this interview snippet (http://loveorlike.tumblr.com/post/324902583/in-may-last-year-you-said-you-wished-to-be-a) got a lot of attention, ahaha. He also got to put out a solo single (http://community.livejournal.com/jone_records/514692.html) under the name of the band he fronts in the movie (streaming PV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4VIcDl8AhQ)), and a short solo album (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=61I73LSQ) that was officially released today, actually. And he's got solo concerts all through February. (Yamapi had solo concerts in November or December. Naturally Jin showed up and they sang together, and Yamapi threatened to do the same at Jin's. Can't leave that out. *g*) He also gets to collaborate with non-JE artists - his BTR solo (http://www.mediafire.com/?j3zyqnnjzol) featured Crystal Kay and a bonus track on her recent album (http://www.mediafire.com/?2miei2dvd55) featured him.

Meanwhile Kame's gearing up for a drama with Tegoshi and Uchi, an adaptation of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge aka The Wallflower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_Nadeshiko_Shichihenge), and the general feeling in fandom is that there's a lot riding on this given the whole "ratings poison" thing. (His last drama, Kami no Shizuku, was a dismal failure - through no fault of Kame's own, the material was awful - and his cameo in KimuTaku's Mr. Brain coincided with a ratings dip as well, poor kid.) And he's still stuck in the Dream Boys vortex, too - I think the last iteration was in September, with Subaru and Tegoshi. Plus various JE-sponsored sports/baseball related activities, like this (http://newshfan.livejournal.com/160881.html). Otherwise it's a little quiet on the Kame front.

If, uh, you need me to go back further, I can go back further. Or provide more detail. ._.

Oh, and as I was writing this comment I saw that Jin and Ryo went to Korea (http://community.livejournal.com/aramatheydidnt/503799.html). *g*

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU. NO REALLY. ♥

It's past my bedtime and I have a pedicure tomorrow at 9am sharp, but I will get back to these links asap, and gah. I've been feeling kind of blah about Kpop fic lately, and maybe this is just the thing to send me hurtling back into the loving, sequinned arms of Johnny's.

Also, poor Kame. I do have to say, the roles where I've found him most captivating are ones where he plays the intense crazy guy, obsessive to the point of self-destruction. I don't know if it's just his body type, something about the half-starved look, or if I'm just projecting. (Probably projecting.) Either way, I feel like he mines moments of darkness in his characters really well; the comedy not so much.

Haha, I'm surprised Jin and Nishikido went to Korea after Yamapi got manhandled at Gimpo.

Well. I do try. ♥

The infamous Yamapi incident was the first thing I thought of, too, ahahaha, but everyone seems to have been very well-behaved this time around - fans kept relative distance, Jin obediently posed for pictures rather than losing his temper, etc.

Which I chalk up to someone in JE not bothering to check the TV guide for that week. The night and time the episode aired, there was a MASSIVE baseball game screening on another channel. It didn't help that the episode itself wasn't quite as edgy as others, but yeah, main culprit = baseball. Hell probably Kame himself was watching the game instead of the episode ^^;;;;

Ah, sou ka? For whatever reason I missed hearing about that. Man, Kame can't catch a break with a mile-wide net. D:
