So I hear that [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday community revealed something or other? XD I was responsible for what is in all likelihood the silliest of the lot, One Thousand and One Tokyo Nights, which is not in fact an Arabian Nights AU but just Yamapi and Jin being Very Silly. XD (Mild Pin, but nothing too alarming.) I had a lot of fun writing it -- as in, I sat down and blew off steam related to another writing project by emptying the recesses of my mind without any regard as to how ridiculous the result was. XD ...it was fun! I also had it easy as it was for [livejournal.com profile] 4_03_am and [livejournal.com profile] phonestrap so I had a preeetty good idea what would go over all right. ;)

By the way, I'm never sure whether to repost challenge fic here or simply link and leave them be -- show of hands, what do you guys do?

In related news, I'm pretty sure all of [livejournal.com profile] je_ficgames is up now? So, if you feel like guessing that. (eta: Polls will be shut down on Sunday, so if you want to cast a vote, do it before then!) No one did manage to get [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday before the reveal, and at least one person expressed Surprise at the identity of the author being... me... which pleased me greatly, actually. :) It's nice not to be universally predictable.

People still hanging out here at least partly for fic-related reasons: a redux of that meme in which you tell authors your favorite piece of theirs is going around, and... actually I'm too lazy to link to it again. If you feel so inclined give me a heads up? :D Especially if this answer is something more recent. Just 'cause I'm curious.

Ending with a rec -- this is from Yuletide, but I don't even know if it counts as fanfiction. Theoretically the fandom is (coincidentally, haha) One Thousand and One Nights; in practice it reads as original fiction and wow did it blow me away. It's not so much the prose as, appropriately, the storytelling, but I really recommend it -- One Thousand And One And Counting.

I usually repost on my own journal just for archival purposes (plus sometimes when I get typos or mistakes pointed out to me I am anal enough that I want to go back and change it, so if it's posted by someone else I don't have that luxury). I always link to the original anon post when I repost tho; it seems like an important part of the fic's history (or something) that way?

I make no sense. XD

*nodnod* No, that makes sense -- I've never reposted before because I kind of like having that original post there, but when I just link to it I'm never sure if people might skim past the entry and not notice. (If I had a separate fic journal this would be easier. XD) You have a good point about the typos, too, especially as this time I know it applies to me, eep...

I just link to them but then I also (still, so old fashioned XD) have a fic site I put all my fic up on sooner or later, anyway.

I started it back in ye olde days when people still had Real Websites, when I was in Buffy fandom. Nobody has them in jpop/kpop, it seems (except me and jain, of course).

Yep, posting for ficgames is done now. We figure people are starting to get impatient, and bar sending people threatening emails we figure there's not much else we can do. You guys will be getting reveals relatively soonish too :D

I tend to repost everything to the fic comm I share with other people so I don't have the issue of whether to report to my journal etc. But I always wonder if I should link to it in my entries, lol. So many questions!

Excellent! I was wondering about reveals but I didn't want to ask and sound greedy. ;)

Ah, but you do repost at your comm (rather than just putting a fake cut on the comm or something)? I see. And yes, if you have a separate fic comm/journal, there's always that -- on one hand, presumably people who want to read the fic will friend the journal; on the other, sometimes one is pleasantly surprised to find interesting fic after one has friended someone for non-fic related reasons. :)

We've finally made a post. I think it's about time we tell people who wrote who and who won :D

I do, yeah. Exactly! I'm always pleased to discover that people write under other names, especially if I've friended them for other reasons :)

I repost challenge fic, but only because I have a fic journal and like to keep track of everything there. If I ficced on my main journal, I'd just link to the comm. :)

Separate fic journals are a handy solution for this one, but I'm such a nitpicker(/control freak) that I often go back and make revisions on fics that have been done for months, so having a copy that I can edit without having to pester mods is a must. That and I like having everything in one easily accessible spot.

a redux of that meme in which you tell authors your favorite piece of theirs is going around, and... If you feel so inclined give me a heads up? :D

Kitty and the Tramp and Attack of the JE Bodysnatchers. As much as I love and adore Marquee, it ended on such a perfect note it needs no further additions, and I'd love to see any further snippets from the former 'verses.

That! That is exactly the problem here! XD There's something that should be changed and I want to fix it, which I could do if I repost -- I just don't like the feeling of having two copies floating around (and one that I don't have control over, eep, not that I can do anything about that now!) to be confused and having the comments split up and everything... *sigh* Probably I'll repost one of the challenge fics and not the other, and fix the one that needs fixing.

:D :D :D I am so fond of the kitty gang myself... Well, I do -- or will at some point -- owe you more of that, after all, I believe we made a deal. XD I will do my best to work on that!

Really it's whatever you're comfortable with. As a reader, I personally tend to stick to an author's journal for their fics, I'm less likely to click off to other places unless it's an author I absolutely adore, so as a writer I try to stick as much in one place as possible. But that's just me ^_^

I believe we made a deal. XD

Ah, we did indeed. I best get to work on fulfilling my half of the bargain! *drags out the Verona guidebook* ^_~

I always repost my fics in my fic journal, which is really a lot less organized than it should be, but I like to have stuff posted in a place where I have control over it, if you know what I mean? lkajsdf

I think my favorite fics of yours are, well. Marquee makes my soul happy ♥♥ and. hm. I really love five things that never happened to hayato and ryu. And Can't Go Home Again, that one crushes my heart in really pleasing ways. Also your Mysterious Ficgames Fic, I love that one. ♥ can you tell I am bad at picking favorites.

*nodnod* I do know! The control issue is making me twitchy -- I've only had one other fic posted on a comm without my control ([livejournal.com profile] jdrama_remix) and that was so short it never bothered me. (ALTHOUGH I have always wondered if the almost complete lack of comments was because it was posted somewhere else or if it was just a problematic fic to begin with... >_> I WILL NEVER KNOW.)

*beams* I am bad at picking favorites too, so I understand! And you picked pretty much all of my own favorites. :D (The other one being that akame vday challenge one, meaning that makes my favorites all of the longer fics I've written... uh...) re: the pleasing heart-crushing: I take that as a huge compliment, because I know exactly what you mean and I love that feeling, eeee.

Thank you for indulging me. ♥
