How I acquired this knowledge: during a stressful week sometimes you just want to read a lot of really ridiculous fic covering every trope known to man.


darkgloom is informed on Johnny/Stéphane so these are all Johnny/Evan. Starred are particularly satisfying.

Warning: all of these are in progress except for parallel universe #2, pairs, and sochi. but they update quickly.

The problem with reading Johnny/Evan fic is, well, Evan. Who on a personal level is turning out to be such a tool it's almost endearing - is he seriously that clueless or is he hyper-aware and full of double meanings?? - but as a skater NO, NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO. And, like, reminding myself EVERY DAY that he won gold (and nationals, and -- ) is so horrifying.

Someday I will wake up and the new scoring system will all be a bad dream.

Anyway, pairing-wise, I've always been incredibly fond of Lambiel but as usual I'm drawn to the train wreck instead. ._.

If you are avoiding the cut you may have a heartbreaking fanvid instead. T_T

*dies* Kind of exactly why I started with Johnny/Stephane first... I saw the cute youtube clips and the pics where Johnny looked like he was on Stephane's lap.

omg, tell me about it, I was totally in love with Alexei Yagudin in high school. ._. (Imagine when my surprise when I later found out his reputation for hitting everything that moves is identical to Jin's, right down to the STD jokes. XD) But the Yagudin/Plushenko years were so epic. And despite the fact that I was obviously in the Yagudin camp, I totally would have taken a gold medal for Plushy in Vancouver over Lysacek. >:(

*flails* another Yagudin fan!! dying, looks like there is a certain type huh... I loved the Yagudin/Plushenko years. So epic and angsty. It was the last period where I was completely and utterly obsessed with figure skaing. Too bad there wasn't a figure skating fandom back then. Or...lj... :( I know what you mean though I don't think Plushy skated half as well as he could have. If Yagudin had been there, he would have never been as sloppy with some of his jumps :(

My primary problem with Evan is not the toolishness, it's that he's a LIFE RUINER WHO RUINS LIVES boring skater who works the system. >_< It's not ~ART~ okay. He was a cute kid, though.

I am curious to know if he stays in competitive skating, though, since apparently he's not going to decide until the end of the summer. I'm sure even if he doesn't someone else will just pick up gaming the system where he left off. Sigh.

Also curious to know if Johnny retires, of course, but there all signs seem to point fairly clearly to "yes".

AHAHAHA oh Mer. Evan's tool-ness kills me but it is also what has endeared him to me. D: I ship Johnny/Stephane like burning but Johnny/Evan fic is, in general, better/more. :(

ALSO, I am the only person who writes hetfic in FS fandom apparently. I wrote PChan/Yuna and Stephane/Shizuka for the meme but I can't ever post it anywhere because all the comms are for slash! :(

Johnny/Stephane is so incredibly adorable, I can't even say. Also I love Stephane as both a skater and a human being, so there's that. The characterization is incredible.)

The parallel universe fic by passe_simple is also pretty darn good, though. As is Time Off to Re-evaluate. And Outtakes, by kartography, which isn't up there, yet. I need to update that list.

ok but yes as discussed obviously stephane is actual perfection but there is so much tension to the johnny-evan relationship that it just ends up a roiling mass of pairing chemistry. and height differences. WHAT.
