Sometimes it has trouble with the fine line between over the top funny and just plain ridiculous, but there's definitely plenty of (oddly heartwarming) hilarity and stupid boy antics. I will say ahead of time that Oguri Shun is nominally the male lead but Nakatsu - the non-Oguri Shun member of the love triangle XD - completely steals the show.
Speaking of Horikita Maki (Mizuki), did you ever watch Nobuta? Maki does a pretty amazing job in her role, and you know dorama aren't always known for their, er, rigorous acting standards... Out of all the dorama I've seen, it's probably the best written, as well. And slashy as hell, of course.
