One of my favorite things about writing AUs is transposing RL events and dynamics into a similar setting, whether it's serious or comedic - I'm v. happy that stood out for you! (Iniesta and Xavi miiiight have been one of my favorite moments to write in the whole fic, ahaha.) And I'm not exactly Valdes' biggest fan on the field either, ahem ahem, but as a character he's GREAT. XD Oh, and your compromise is one I like very much. ohoho. :D actually I sort of have an idea of what happens next. *facepalm* I have this condition called "chronic sequelitis", see...
