"Pi," Jin said. His voice was gentle and sad. Yamapi closed his eyes. "It doesn't work like that."

[...]

Yamapi said, "I love you."

Jin's mouth trembled, as if he were trying to smile, or trying not to cry. In the dim light, his eyes shone wetly.

When I read this, in my mind I heard Jin say: "I know you do," he said, "but you're not in love with me. At least I got this feeling. Love is something that can't be defined so easily. There are so many different types of love, still they all have one thing in common. When the person you love hurts, it hurts you, too. You want to make it right for them and see them happy. Pi loves Jin. It's a love that goes beyond friendship but it does not cross the line of lovers. He wants him to be happy. He would do anything to make it happen but this is not how things works. Jin has to find a way for himself and all Pi could do, is being there for him. Does it make sense? Maybe I just read something in it what is not there and misinterpreted it. Then I'm sorry.

I really like this story and the way you wrote it. Your characterisation is beautiful. It's poignant and realistic. The part with Takky and the show business is bittersweet. Jin's wish to go to America after the encounter is an interesting idea. This part shows so much about his worries and his loneliness. The end is fitting although I feel sorry for the girlfriend. I hope this reply is not too long.
