He was actually my adviser and a former IBM employee turned lecturer -- mostly it came up when he was talking about career advising and the like. I did a semester project once that was organized as a team of two upper-level student managers/mentors and eight lower-level students doing most of the actual programming that actually taught all of us a lot, I think... sometimes unintentionally. ;)
